Cambridge, MA, February 27, 2019 — Houston Methodist Hospital, a leading academic medical center in Texas that fosters innovation for potential clinical application, is joining the TriNetX global health research network to enhance its ability to provide real-world data for study feasibility, facilitate academic collaboration, and increase participation in industry-sponsored clinical trials.

“The TriNetX platform brings new informatics capabilities that support our vision for the next century by leveraging the innovation of our industry collaborations,” said Edward Jones, president and CEO of the Houston Methodist Research Institute. “This membership allows us to broaden our participation in clinical trials for novel therapeutics that represent the prospect of hope to our patients. This is one key example of how we continue to lead medicine.”

TriNetX has partnered with healthcare organizations spanning 16 countries and thousands of sites, and with data providers covering 99% of US health plans to deploy a linked and continually updated global health research network representing over 300 million patients.

TriNetX has been used by biopharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations (CROs) and healthcare organizations to analyze over 13,000 protocols and present nearly 3,000 clinical trial opportunities to its HCO members. Each member of TriNetX shares in the consolidated value of its global, federated health research network that connects clinical researchers in real-time to the patient populations which they are attempting to study.

Houston Methodist is reengineering the future of medicine with translational research and education that has demonstrable impact on clinical care. As a top academic medical center with a translational research institute, Houston Methodist comprises eight hospitals with more than 1.3 million patient encounters, 1,960 credentialed researchers and 1,261 clinical protocols. Drawing from TriNetX’s demonstrated leadership and expertise with trusted academic partners, Houston Methodist will be better positioned to increase opportunity for and execute successful completion of clinical trials.

“We are pleased that Houston Methodist has joined the TriNetX Network,” said Steve Lethbridge, Senior Vice President of Global Data Networks at TriNetX. “We are confident that leveraging our platform will help them reach their goals of improved collaboration and increased participation in clinical trials.”
