Each quarter, our Healthcare Partnership Team recognizes a healthcare organization (HCO) for its exemplary collaboration with TriNetX. Join us in congratulating Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) as our newest Network Spotlight HCO!
Due to their timely responses to clinical trial opportunities, the number of queries run on the TriNetX LIVE™ platform, the utilization of TriNetX as their real-world data (RWD) source for nearly 100 published studies, and the use of TriNetX for N3C data submissions, we are honored to shine a light on Penn State CTSI, which supports research at Penn State College of Medicine and across the entire Pennsylvania State University.

Why did you join TriNetX?
We joined TriNetX for multiple reasons: to increase opportunities for our patients to participate in innovative industry-sponsored clinical trials, to have the ability to provide site-specific data to research teams in a self-serve fashion, and to allow our researchers to have access to worldwide real-world evidence (RWE) for scientific study.
What do you currently use TriNetX for?
In addition to achieving the goals stated above, we use TriNetX to quickly provide potential studies to clinical research teams for evaluation. We also encourage, train, and support our faculty, researchers, and students in how best to acquire, review, analyze, and understand RWD extracted from the TriNetX LIVE™ platform.
How do you envision growing your partnership with TriNetX into the future?
Our two future goals are to link patient-level genetic data to deidentified clinical data for discovery, and to link data from our clinical trial management system to TriNetX to understand better the demographics of our clinical trial volunteers. We will also continue to broaden our user base by consistently growing repeat and first-time users.
How many papers have been published utilizing TriNetX data?
As of August 2024, Penn State CTSI has 99 publications with TriNetX recorded as the data source for the studies.
